Investing In Low Income Communities
I am extremely passionate about understanding what I can do in this world to make it a better place. Something that I am really drawn to is using my research to understand what residents in lower income communities need in order to improve their livelihoods. For one of my semester projects, I decided to sit down, research, and understand why we have certain communities in our country that are often overlooked by investors.
After hours of research, I realized that I was left with a passion for fixing systematic racism issues that have caused residents of low income communities to have unequal opportunities. I believe, based on research, that a large part of our society has been put at a disadvantage because of mistakes we have made in the past, and I want to fix those issues.
I believe that if we want to start somewhere, we should look to understand the needs of residents of low income areas and provide government funding to better those areas based on user needs. This includes investing in education, investing in residential, as well as commercial real estate, and other necessary items.
The audience of this project was targeted to be people of my generation (Gen Z). If I know there is one thing people my age will sit down and listen to, it is a video of a person talking casually to a camera, while simultaneously doing another task. So, sit back and enjoy as I do my makeup and educate you on the research I have done.
